SAP and Lenovo team up to bring new cloud solutions to China
Chinese Lenovo and the German SAP SE have announced a new partnership which will see the duo build new cloud solutions in China. On top of that, the German giant is bringing its HANA database to the Land of the Rising Sun.
SAP buys 'all the pretty data' firm Roambi
The software giant this week bought “key assets” of Roambi, founded in 2008 and specialising in mobile BI and analytics. SAP announced the Roambi buy while saying its Predictive Analytics also now works with Spark – the open-source cluster framework for massive data processing.
SAP announces chief security officer as critical report lands
SAP announced its first-ever chief security officer, Justin Somaini, who has been in the role since Jan. 1, just as a study highlighting worries about SAP app security lands.
“My approach, especially with customers, is how we can have open, continuous conversation that’s transparent,” Somaini says. “I want to have an honest conversation—so [I’ll say] ‘Tell me the problems first so that we can fix them.’
SAP extends contracts for executive team, including CEO, until 2021
German software giant SAP on Thursday extended the contracts of its top executive team until 2021, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters, in a move that dispels doubts about the future tenure of Chief Executive Bill McDermott.
SAP's HANA Vora bridges divide between enterprise and Hadoop data
Aiming to help bring contextual analytics to the data organizations have stored in Hadoop, enterprise systems and other distributed data sources, SAP Tuesday announced the general availability of in-memory query engine SAP HANA Vora.
